Geet did not respond. She was not yet in this position to understand anything. Her mind was lost somewhere. “Thank you for what you did for me” saying only that she left. The house was still some distance away. She was walking to get entangled in thoughts and lots of questions. Maan kept looking at her for a long time. Then she went missing in the evening mist.
“It’s time for you to come back? Where was it so late? You went to the market in the morning, and came back in the evening?”
Geet heard the guard was saying something, but she did not hear a word. She kept walking towards her room. Without thinking, without understanding. Today, how much had changed within a few hours. Such a big truth? The whole thing that was told to her seemed unimaginable. How can a person be so bad? Playing with the feelings of a small child, how can one do that?
Such a big fraud for money? And the most important thing, today Geet came to know, she has no one in this world. She is all alone. As soon as thinking this, her eyes were filled. Lost in thoughts, she started going towards her room instead of the servant room. She didn’t even know that someone was watching all her actions. Upon reaching her room, she took a picture out of the bag which Savitri had given her.
Seeing her parents, she could not stop and started crying bitterly. When after a while her tears stopped, the heart’s anger started coming to her lip. “”Jagan, you didn’t do well with me. That big cheat for money only? You have cheated everyone by becoming Pratap Singh. You have betrayed my father’s trust. Even, you tried to kill me. For money?” Then she laughs out loud to think something “But Geet, a person who did not support even his own family, what goodness can be expected from him?”
Thinking that she remembered Maan. How he went against his father and supported her. And the struggle of Savitri. All these troubles are due to one person only. “God will not forgive you either.”
“I can’t change what happened, but now whatever will happen, it will happen at my own will” She vowed without knowing that someone was listening to her every word standing at the door.
